The campsite in Łopienka

Summer Student Tent Base is located in non-existent Łopienka village, at the foot of Łopiennik. The village, once numerously inhabited, was completely displaced as part of the Operation Vistula in 1947 and the buildings were destroyed and burned down. To this day, the Greek Catholic Church of 1797 has been preserved, which thanks to the efforts of, initially, Olgierd Łotoczka – art historian and conservator of monuments and students who were coming to the Base was thoroughly renovated.

The Base in Łopienka is run by the Academic Tourist Club at SGGW. The conditions are Spartan, but the location of the base compensates imperfections. The Base offers 30 beds in base tents (10-bed tents) and 50 places in the campsite. Tents are equipped with wooden bunks, blankets and foam mattresses. Additionally, there is latrine and opportunity to wash in cold water in a specially designated place for this. The Base is equipped with a spacious shelter for rain protection. The shelter has a kitchen area with a brick stove where one can prepare meal. The common part of the shelter is equipped with an atmospheric fireplace, wooden benches and tables. At the territory of the base there is also place designated for a bonfire.
