In 2008 the Roman Catholic Church of the St. Francis of Asissi was signed together with 7 other wooden Churches of the Carpathian Arch on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
The wooden Roman Catholic Church of St. Francis of Assisi was built in the Gothic style at the end of the 15th century (most likely in 1499 and 1500).
It is the oldest and best-preserved wooden church in Slovakia. The most valuable parts of its interior include Gothic array paintings and wall paintings from 1655 and 1805.
Choose this Church if you consider visiting at least one of the wooden churches in Slovakia.
