Krajné Čierno

The Church of Saint Basil the Great from 1730 is a Greek Catholic wooden temple. Its architecture belongs to the Byzantine religious buildings, in which the Eastern rite and the liturgy of Jan Złotousty are practiced. An interesting fact related to wooden churches from the Svidník region is that they were built during the reign of Maria Teresa. The oldest one from this period is in Ladomirova, it was built in 1742 and the youngest is in Krajné Čierno and Hunkovce. The church from Vyšný Komárnik village can be classified to the same period.

The wooden temple was among of the hundred most endangered monuments in the world and because of that it in 2000-2004 was renovated.
