Kapušany, castle

On a relatively steep hill, in the place of the old Slavic stronghold, a castle was built in the 13th century, which was to protect the royal road leading from Prešov to the north. Today, the castle ruins are situated above Kapušany village, on the rocky part of Zámčisko peak. It is called the Kapušany or Kapušiansky hrad castle.

High stone walls, plasterworks, windows and shooting holes remained. A large part of the castle, along with the construction of the observation tower was renovated in recent years.

Thanks to the Cultural Heritage Protection project, people who had been unemployed for a long time found work here. In 2012, 20 long-term unemployed people worked at the castle, in 2013 it was as many as 30 employees
