In the moderate Giraltovce city, which has more than 4 000 residents, there is an outpatient clinic, grocery stores, restaurants or ice cream booth. Among the monuments the interesting one is the Monument to the fallen in the World War I, which is in front of the Greek Catholic Church (in the direction from Prešov to the right, in front of the center). The monument – a lying lion, comes from to 1918 and its author is Félix Faragó.
The visitor may be curious about perhaps not quite ordinary appearance of the Roman Catholic church in the city. From the history of the city the year 1909 is interesting, when the Giraltowski Bank was established.
