The Solina Lake is the largest artificial reservoir in Poland in terms of water capacity – about 500 million m3. It was established in 1968 as a result of partitioning with concrete dam the River San and its left tributary – the Solinka River. This building changed the landscape of the region forever and also moderated the climate. Thanks to creation of the lake, tourism in Bieszczady Mountains has developed greatly. A lot of guesthouses, private accommodation and agricultural farms appeared around it. Tourist services have developed as well, such as water equipment rentals: kayaks, water bikes, boats, yachts. In Solina – from the side of Jawor, there are three water marinas from where tourist ships depart. These are mostly two-deck units, from the upper terrace one can admire the "green hills above Solina" about which Wojciech Gąssowski used to sing. They offer hour-long cruises as well as longer cruises over the bays located in the San Valley to Zatoka Suchego Dębu. At the marinas there are rentals of floating equipment, numerous cafes, bars and restaurants available for tourists.
