The old Greek Catholic Orthodox church of Saint Paraskevy, and now the Roman Catholic Church dedicated to The Ascension of the Lord Jesus in Górzanka is situated on a small hill, surrounded by old oaks and lindens, nearby the road leading from Baligród to Wołkowyja. The Orthodox Church was constructed in 1718 (presbytery and nave) and the vestibule was added after 1865. It is an oriented temple, with a log frame structure, covered with a sheet metal gable roof. Next to it there is a bell-gable tower from the second half of the 19th century.

There were as many as three iconostases in the church – the first was dismantled pretty quickly, as it was damaged under the influence of conditions. After the church left, among others, the oldest icon that is at present in the Orthodox Church – Christ the Pantocrat dated the mid-18th century. The second iconostasis was unique nationally as it consisted of bas-relieved icons. According to legend, the rough waters of Wołkowyja brought lime wood, from which the local artist carved this iconostasis. The faces of the apostles made reference to the former inhabitants of Górzanka. However, the contemporary Greek Catholic bishop considered it as non-canonical and order to dismantle it. This iconostasis was replaced by a third iconostasis. Moreover, in the church one can see equipment from the Orthodox Church and the Church of Wołkowyja, which were devastated, because the area where they were located was flooded with the water of Solina Lake. In the temple there are also elements from the Church from Tyskowa and Radziejowa – the villages, that were displaced and destroyed during the Vistula Operation. The Orthodox Church in Górzanka is therefore a kind of museum.
