The Orłowicz Pass

One of the most frequently chosen routes within the Bieszczady National Park is passage the entire Połonina Wetlińska.
A characteristic place at Połonina is the Orłowicz Pass, which separates Szare Berdo, which is part of Połonina from Smerek. The pass is located at an altitude of 1094 m a. s. l., and since 1974 has the name after Mieczysław Orłowicz - Polish doctor of law, sightseer and promoter of tourism, author of many guidebooks. It is one of the lowest places of the mountain pasture in the Polish Bieszczady Mountains.

The Orłowicz Pass is a popular junction of tourist routes. The red Main Beskids Trail from Kalnica through Smerek, Przełęcz and Połonina Wetlińska to Berehów Górne runs through this place. There is a yellow trail from Wetlina where you can go down to Zatwarnica. There is also a black trail from Jaworzec and Krysowa. There is a lovely panorama from here, among others to the Border Range, the Bieszczady and the Sanocko-Turczańskie Mountains.
