Zborov, castle

The castle was built at the beginning of the 14th century to protect the road connecting Hungary and Poland. During the state uprisings, the imperial army attacked it and demolished it in 1684. Only the walls of the extensive castle, rebuilt in the Renaissance style, have survived. Additionally to medieval monuments, the castle also has a memorial stone from the World War I. The castle is currently renovated by volunteers who are happy to show tourists over the castle, while telling its story and numerous legends connected with it.
