Becherov

A hard fights took place between the Austro-Hungarian and Russian armies in the village during World War I. That is why a stone memorial for the fallen was erected on Dujava border peak - War Cemetery No. 46 - Konieczna, where 168 soldiers of the Austro-Hungarian Army and 135 soldiers of the Russian Army were buried. The architect of the monument was the famous Slovak architect Dušan Jurkovič. A red tourist trail runs past the monument. There are also 74 graves in the village at the local cemetery from the World War I. During World War II against the German occupants, 60 men from this village left to partisans, 15 of them did not return home.
A monument was erected to honor the ones who were killed in the village.
