The lookout tower at Cergowa

Cergowa is a forested peak with a height of 716 m a. s. l., whose characteristic silhouette rising above Dukla, has become a symbol of the entire Beskid Dukielski.

The hill is crowned with three peaks (716 m above sea level, 683 m above sea level, 681 m above sea level), the highest of which has an iron cross and an observation tower. It was put into a service in October 2018, 

It is a four-storey structure, almost 22 meters high; its appearance resembles the Canadian-type drilling towers, characteristic of the area's landscape at the time of the oil boom at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries.  It offers a panoramic view of Beskid Niski, the Carpathian Foothills, the Slovakian Carpathians, or the Tatra Mountains.

It is worth mentioning that there are about ten slit caves in the Cergowa massif. On the northern part of the mountain, there is the reserve of the Millenium at Cergowa Mountain, which protects mixed natural forests over 100 specimens of yew.

You can get to Cergowa using the red the Main Beskids Trail running from Nowa Wieś near Dukla towards Iwonicz Zdrój and the yellow trail from Dukla towards Zawadka Rymanowska.

Here on the route, we will go past one more attraction, the so-called Złota Studzienka (The Golden Well), where the shrine is located and where, according to legend, St. John of Dukla began his hermit's life here.
